Official Hat Arm Chairs
These chairs are near
Museum Quality, great
chairs! circa 1870
Featured this month is a pair of
magnificent Chinese Official Hat
Chairs .
Used by aristocracy and scholars,
the Official's Hat chair was usually

important guests. This elegant pair
of Chinese antique chairs has the
additional feature of curved back
splats. The members of this chair
are delicate and slender. The top
rail, posts back splat, arm side

expressed as sweeping curved lines.
This kind of armchairs were
extremely common in the Ming

most often seen in the reception
