Piece of the Month Pair of Chinese Antique Official Hat Arm Chairs These chairs are near Museum Quality, great chairs! circa 1870
Featured this month is a pair of magnificent Chinese Official Hat Chairs . Used by aristocracy and scholars, the Official's Hat chair was usually put in front of a screen in the main hall and reserved to receive important guests. This elegant pair of Chinese antique chairs has the additional feature of curved back splats. The members of this chair are delicate and slender. The top rail, posts back splat, arm side posts and goose neck front posts are expressed as sweeping curved lines. This kind of armchairs were extremely common in the Ming dynasty, and this type of chair was most often seen in the reception room, studio or bedroom. Please see the pictures. | Deal of the Month Chinese Wooden Gate Doors circa 1870's (Shanxi China)
You are looking at a pair of Chinese Antique GATE doors made from elm wood. This item is made from solid quality hard wood Elm wood and is about 130 years old. It is in wonderful condition for its age, and has been lightly cleaned and refinished, yet retains its original finish and patina. The doors are from Shanxi Province in China and are original Antique not a reproduction so expect flaws which is common to Antiques, although in exceptional condition for its age. Normally this would retail for $3900, it is your chance to a great deal. It measures about 42 inches wide, 3 inches deep 72 inches high. It is quite heavy and sturdy, quality made. This could be used for an entry door accent, or in your living room or dining room as a dividing door way, even used as a wall hanging, or anything you can imagine. And these can of course be used outside as gate doors or even front entry doors. YOU WILL LOVE THIS IN PERSON. EXCELLENT ANTIQUE CONDITION.
